Due to Oct 5th WT Biz Meet all meetings for that week are cancelled
by illoowy ini was informed that due to oct 5th wt biz meet all meetings for that week are cancelled,.
i asked if the mid week meeting was also and was told yes, because of the assembly.. it seems there's an overload of theocratic alternative banqueting feasts available so.
that the regular menu at the kh is not necessary for that week.

A lot of Wtnesses will rejoice at some time off.
Yeah. I always wondered how many witnesses were secretly happy whenever a meeting got called off.

Has anyone been infected by the FBI Moneypak virus?
by keyser soze init happened to me a few weeks ago.
my laptop locked up and i got a message, supposedly from the fbi cybercrimes division, saying that there was a criminal investigation being launched against me for one or multiple infringements.
and being the tech savvy guy that i am, i thought it was real, and started freaking out.

It happened to me a few weeks ago. My laptop locked up and I got a message, supposedly from the FBI cybercrimes division, saying that there was a criminal investigation being launched against me for one or multiple infringements. And being the tech savvy guy that I am, I thought it was real, and started freaking out. The letterhead seemed authentic, and it had my name, IP address, and service provider. Fortunately, after the intitial shock wore off, I was able to think more clearly, and realize it was a scam.
For starters, the fact that it was asking for 300 dollars, that could only be paid with Moneypak, should've been a red flag. And then there's the fact that the FBI would never employ such a tactic to begin with.
So I was without my laptop for a couple of weeks because I wasn't aware of how easy it actually was to remove the virus. I thought I was going to have to take it in to a professional, and wasn't sure I wanted to bother, being that it was an old computer, and I've been wanting to update. But I got bored last night and was able to remove it on my own with little difficulty.

I'm not sure why... (Comparing presidents of the US to Watchtower presidents)
by slimboyfat inbut lyndon johnson often reminds me of rutherford.
is there anything to that comparison?
i gather that johnson had a very fiery temper and was disliked by many around him; drinked heavily too, was a womaniser, no stranger to dirty tricks, and was fond of power more than idealistism.

But Lyndon Johnson often reminds me of Rutherford. Is there anything to that comparison?
You mean, besides the fact that they were both lying assholes?

am just saying he is doing the kid a favor! Even if parents rights are paramount in these matters they should have more sense then naming a kid that way.
I agree. I don't understand when parents give children odd names that are only cute for the first few years of their lives. They're the ones that have to go through life with that name. Why not just send them to school with a wedgie already, and save the other kids the trouble.

Was Paul a "tentmaker"?
by CyrusThePersian inin acts 18:2,3 we read:.
"there he met a jew named aquila, a native of pontus, who had recently come from italy with his wife priscilla, because claudius had ordered all jews to leave rome.
paul went to see them, and because he was a tentmaker as they were, he stayed and worked with them.".

could it be that "Paul" was a tentmaker, but in reality it was just 'morning wood'?
Damn you, Talesin, you stole my thunder. I was just about to inject a comment about 'pitching a tent'.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses REALLY believe that their worldly friends, relatives and small children will be slain in the street by god?
by jambon1 ini mean, it's so utterly ****ed up, it's unbelievable.. just think about the nitty gritty of it:.
people that they love & care for who don't share their religion deserve to be killed, left without a grave & eaten by wild animals.
one day, this will happen & they'll be surrounded by billion upon billion of decaying, rotting corpses.

The reply was "When Armageddon comes Jehovah can read all honest ones hearts, and many who are not witnesses will be saved."
Is this a new slant? Or was it just a way to try and get me back? I suspect the latter, but shows that even die hard JWs can't stand to think of billions dying.
It's not a new slant. It's how JWs, even those who fully understand the ramifications of Armageddon, are able to justify it to themselves.

7 graphs that prove America is overrated
by Simon inbefore the usual suspects start reaching for the pich-forks and forming a mob, i invite you to actually read and consider this, not just leap to conclusions.. http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/regions/americas/united-states/130607/7-graphs-america-overrated-nsa-prism-privacy.
why do i care?
it seems the people being screwed the most are also the most visciferous defenders of the status quo which sees them being severely disadvantaged.. maternity leave?

If a person or country makes the claim that they/it are the best, then it is fair to call them/it on it with contrary documentation
Kind of like we do with the WT on a regular basis.

Americans are normally so forthright about standing up for values and justice etc... but suddenly all roll over
.All of us? Really? Avoiding such overgeneralizations could go a long way in your criticisms not being construed as 'hate' or America-bashing.
